HalfastMC’s Top Survivor is a contest between players to see who can survive the longest amount of Minecraft days without dying.
Top Survivor Rules
At the end of the month, the top 5 players with the most survived minecraft days will receive a prize. Prizes can be viewed in Top Survivor Hall. Some prizes include unbreakable Pickaxes, Inf/Mending Bows, a custom Top Survivor tag, and more.
In order for your time in the server to count towards your Top Survivor days, you must meet the following requirements:
Your PVP status must be turned on. Your PVP status can be toggled on or off using the command /pvp. It is normally recommended to keep this off until you are at a point in the game where you can safely compete with other, stronger players.
You must not be AFK in-game. After a minute of inactivity, your status will automatically change to AFK mode. Players can change their AFK status off by moving again, or using the command /afk.
Anti-AFK machines or auto-clicking mob farms are not allowed to be used while your PVP is on, regardless if you are watching your screen. If you are automating something, your PVP should be set to OFF or your AFK status must be on. It is against the rules to use these methods to prevent the Top Survivor timer from pausing. Players who are participating in Top Survivor must be actively doing something on the server.
Staying in your claim for long periods of time while gaining days is discouraged. We are currently waiting to implement "Claim Cooldown" in the server. Until it is implemented, your PVP may be turned off manually by a Mod.
Being inside any of the Spawn areas will freeze your score - Even if you die in this area.
If you are suspected of breaking these rules by a Mod or player, you will be penalized in one or more of the following ways;
Your score may be reduced.
Your PVP may be turned off.
You may be kicked from the server.
You may be banned from participating in Top Survivor.
Claim Cooldown (or CC for short)
Claim Cooldown is a value that increases when you spend time in ANY claim. This is implemented to keep players from sheltering in a claim for long periods of time, and encourage exploring the world.
When your Claim Cooldown hits its max, you will no longer accumulate Top Survivor days. This value may change every month.
Your Claim Cooldown will automatically start to decrease when you spend time outside of a claim. When your Claim Cooldown is below the specified value, you will begin to accumulate Top Survivor days again.
You can check what your Claim Cooldown is by using command “/ts claim”.
Example: The Claim Cooldown is set to 180 minutes. When you are in a claim for 180 minutes, your Top Survivor score will pause. When you leave a claim for 1 minute, your Claim Cooldown will become 179 minutes - And your Top Survivor score will accumulate again.
If you set PVP off, your Claim Cooldown will pause until you turn on PVP again.
Top Survivor Commands
You can use the command /topsurvivor or /ts with the following arguments:
/ts check - Check your current Top Survivor score, and the last time you died.
/ts check <playername> (example: /ts check Notch) - Check another player’s current Top Survivor score, and the last time they died.
/ts top - Check the current top 25 players in Top Survivor and their last deaths.
/ts help - A list of all the Top Survivor commands available to you.
/ts claim - Check what your Claim Cooldown value is.
/ts rules - Top Survivor Rules (This website).
Common Questions
How do I remove the scoreboard on the right of my screen? After you win Top Survivor, you can earn the right to use the command “/ts toggle” to remove the scoreboard for yourself. You can also adjust your GUI size in your Minecraft settings to make it smaller.
How do people survive for so many days? The Top Survivor days are counted in Minecraft days, not Earth days. One Minecraft day is equal to 20 minutes on Earth.
I think someone is cheating by using anti-afk, what do I do? You can @ that person on the server and publicly point them out. If they don’t respond and still appear to be AFK, let a Mod know and we will investigate if necessary.
